Abstract Landscapes – Chris Ellis

4 October - 31 October 2024

This exhibition of drop paintings by Chris Ellis was inspired by the landscape of the arid zone.

The uniform spacing of the vegetation and the random scattering of the rocks, the patterns can be found at any scale. From the mosaic patterns of the broad acre farming to the minute patterns on an insect’s wing.

These drop paintings can be interpreted any way the viewer chooses; each drop can be a rock, a plant, a hole, a star, or something seen through a microscope. Many different things to many different people.

The abstract can be found in the landscape and the landscape found in the abstract.
